Here's to your weekend

Today is a sad, sad, day. A good friend of mine Josh, is on active reserve in the marine corps, today is his last affluent day here in the city of freshness. So, I am up and on my way to go spend some quality time with him. Second tour to the Middle East, and it was his choice to go or so he says. I guess it doesn't really matter.

On that note, let's dig into the mind a little.

Freshman year, Biology. For Josh it was all about green pants. I knew it. He knew it. That's what I remember about him that year. That when that sophmore cheerleader wore those provocative green pants, I would be the first to hear about it. Man, those green pants were distracting for him and the rest of the guys and probably some girls in the class.

The other thing I remember about him is in these two words: Egg, Parachute. Now I now that everyone has in one time in their life, made one of these contraptions or something like it. The mission statement. Get your egg, from high roof top point A to solid ground point B. Now between the first and ours were many crunches. Ours one of them. But that's not the sad thing.

When Josh and I had teamed up to make the best Egg Parachute ever, we decided to meet up at the Barney and friends elementary school. As you could vaguely imagine it was purrple. Not purple. But purrple. There were also cats that watched the kids for security reasons. Only to keep the population down.
I had abandoned him to 3 hours of sitting on the park bench while I chose to do something else. Like eat or eat...

To that I apologize to you good sir.

I remember having to meet up with Jesus de cristo one day and question his quality of life ph ratings...
The conversations typically went like this...

What is our place, why are we where we are? It takes no scientist to figure out that who we ultimately become has much to do with the choices that we take. Standard procedure. Ok, fair enough. I'd like to think that I've played the good guy, since I was a mere young pacific asiatic child. I played the role. Of course, growing up with a father who ruled with a leather fist was hard enough. I knew my place, or so I thought and led a very inward life.

Today, I am different. Driven by external loci, I have experienced many great events. For many reasons I thank my father for being so stern, because I know no matter how click-che it may sound that in the end nice guys finish last, but that's okay.
